You mean I dont have to do housework??

I had my ultrasound appointment today. It was so wonderful to see his little face. He is soooo much bigger now and I loved every minute of watching him toss and turn. We even saw him yawn!!!!! He kept turning away from the ultrasound and then finally turned our way and yawned so big. Phillip hit my leg and was so  amazed. "DID YOU SEE THAT?" his words exactly and the look on his face was priceless. He will be such a wonderful dad. After the initial ultrasound was done, the tech went out and called the doctor to have her review the pictures before we left.  The tech then came in and said the doctor wanted better pictures of my cervix.  I was a little worried as to why, but went with the flow and proceeded to get another ultrasound done the uncomfortable way (ladies you know what i mean).  The doctor was then in surgery and was not able to look at the final pictures so we went home.

I got a call from the doc about an hour after I got home and was told I have what is called "funneling". Apparently, my cervix is much shorter than most women.  This can cause pre-term labor if I am not careful.      At first I was a bit nervous as to where this conversation was going to go.  She quickly reassured me that she has seen this sort of thing before and there is a chance that I will carry full term and things will be fine.  I then had to go back to the doctor and have a stress test done.  Let me just say, this test was the easiest most comfortable test ever. haha. I was strapped into a monitor machine, and had to push a button every time I felt the baby move. I was handed a drink to sip on and the remote to watch TV.  45 minutes later the nurse came in and told me that during that 45 minutes, the test showed that I had TWO contractions and a few irritable moments.  I had NO IDEA! lol.  I didnt feel a think except for his movement.

So the conclusion is that I have been put on moderate bed rest and have to go in for a stress test twice a week to monitor everything. I also have to stay stress free. Haha my life is naturally stressful and I am a stressful person. lol so it ought to be interesting.  It sounds worse than it is. I cant do any strenuous activity. No, long walks, no vacuuming, lifting, laundry, taking the dogs out etc. Anything that will put pressure on my cervix is a no no. Now I know it may sound strange, but I dont work as of now, so keeping my house clean IS my job. I couldn't believe she said NO HOUSEWORK. haha. I guess I will just have to feel useless for a while.

Needless to say, baby and I are doing fine as long as I follow doctors orders and keep him cozy for a few more months. Prayers are needed, we definitely want baby to stay in the belly as long as possible. We know God has a plan and we will be fine. Thats all the updates for now : )
